Lash Lift and Tint - Frequently Asked Questions
Lash lifting sets the shape of your lashes using a chemical solution similar to perming. Lifting can be combined with tinting. Lifting and tinting the lashes makes them fuller, thicker and more defined.
The lifting (perm) solution is applied, followed by a ‘fixer’ solution which secures the lifting solution into place.
A tint can then be added using a mixture of colour dye (suitable for your skin tone) and hydrogen peroxide.
The dye penetrates to the follicle, followed by a chemical reaction (oxidisation) that increases the particle size to ensure the colour stays.
A PATCH TEST IS MANDATORY, AT LEAST 24 HOURS PRIOR TO TREATMENT AT A CONSULTATION!!
Treatment is in no way painful, but some may feel a little uncomfortable whilst securing the protective eye shields in place.
Due to the hair growth cycle, individual treatment plans differ from person to person. We lose 3-5 eyelashes daily, so naturally, over time, the lift and tint effect will reduce. Usually we recommend a review and new treatment every 4-6 weeks ( no sooner than 4 weeks, as this will over process the lash).
A list of contraindications to this treatment will be discussed with your practitioner prior to appointment. These will also be discussed during the consultation along with a medical questionnaire.
- Avoid make up for 4-6 hours ( 12 hours preferable)
- If soreness occurs ( rare), then flush with water and contact us as soon as possible
- Avoid sleeping on the front or on top of arm as this may result in a crushed look
- Avoid rubbing your eyes as this will affect the lifting effect
- Return treatment every 4-6 weeks ( no sooner than 4 weeks as this will over-process the lash)
